Meet Cody Rae

I’m a South Texas native, born and raised in a small town where I grew up on a ranch in a creative, hardworking family.  There was always a project happening, something being built, or a new idea being brought to life — and looking back, I think that’s where my love for creating began.  Hair was part of my life from an early age.  My mom was the unofficial hairstylist of our family, and by about nine years old, I was already cutting and styling hair on anyone willing to sit still long enough.

What started as childhood curiosity eventually became a career I’ve loved for more than 22 years.  I began my professional career at 19 and became a licensed cosmetologist at 20.  Early in my career, I built my clientele while doing a significant amount of corrective color.  That experience taught me how to truly understand hair — how color behaves, how to diagnose what happened and why, and how to create beautiful results with intention.  I later opened Cut Loose Hair Emporium in Texas, where I spent 10 years growing my clientele and business before my family relocated to Colorado.

I was fortunate to sell the salon to one of my associates, allowing something I had poured so much into to continue to thrive.  After more than seven years in Colorado, life has brought my family and me back home to Texas, and I’m excited to begin this next chapter in Boerne.  Today, my work is centered around creating luxury, lived-in blondes and dimensional color that feels elevated, effortless, and completely customized to you.  I specialize in balayage, foilyage, dimensional blonding, and grey blending, with an emphasis on beautiful, seamless results that grow out naturally and complement your lifestyle.

For me, great hair has always been about more than the service itself.  I believe God has blessed me with this career and the opportunity to use the gifts He’s given me, and my desire is to bring Him glory in all that I do.  I want every person who sits in my chair to feel cared for, encouraged, and uplifted — to leave not only loving their hair, but feeling a little better than when they walked in.

Outside the salon, I’m a wife and mom of three.  I love spending time with my family, a good Americano, and finding something sweet.  After more than two decades behind the chair, I still genuinely love what I do.  There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing someone light up when they see themselves differently.  I’m so happy to be back in Texas and look forward to welcoming you to my chair here in Boerne.
